Mount Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is one of the best and toughest adventures around Nepal’s Himalayan ranges. This great walk leads you from the low warm farmland towards cooler alpine hills covered in dense woods. The trek continues reaching beneath the towering and the world’s 7th highest peaks Mt. Dhaulagiri, 8,167 m/26,795 feet. An amazing and exciting location amidst massive glaciers and Ice Falls, close to the giant Tukuche Peak. Includes an array of snow peaks that encircles the Mount Dhaulagiri base camp.
On May 13th 1960, Mt. Dhaulagiri was conquered by a Swiss Expedition with the support of a Nepalese Sherpa guide. From then the mountain is frequently visited for the climb using the most accessible route, the North-West base camp.

Itinerary
Day1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal Intenational Airport, after visa formalities, and claiming the baggage. Outside the exit terminal our staff and guide receives you for a short transfer to the hotel. After getting refreshed at the hotel, then join with other members of Manaslu Circuit Trek for a briefing.
Briefing is done by our guide, group leader with full information of the treks, including hotels in Kathmandu. Local cultures with do’s and don’ts.
In the evening a lovely dinner and introduction to Nepali foods and culture.
Day2: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.
Moning after breakfast, our city guide takes you on a tour around thenworld heritage sites within Kathmandu city. After an exciting and interesting tour back to the hotel, preparation and packing for trekking.
Non-essential clothing and items not required for treks, can be stored in the Hotel or with Kirat Society Adventure.
Day3: Fly to Pokhara 860 m approx. 30 minutes and transfer to a hotel.
Moning or aftenoon as time for the flight to Pokhara, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport. After going through security, get on board in a big aircraft for a sweeping panoramic flight of 30 minutes. Enjoy the grand views of majesticnHimalayas from Langtang, Ganesh and Manaslu Himal to Annapuna range.
Landing at Pokhara airport, transfer to respective hotels by the serene and beautiful Phewa Lakeside. Enjoy the aftenoon exploring the exciting lakeside with views of Annapuna Himalayas.
Day4: Drive to Mure 1,570 m via Beni town and Darbang Village 06 hrs. Transfer to a simple lodge or Home Stay cottage.
From Pokhara, drive to Beni, the headquarters town of Myagdi District.
The drive continues towards Darbang, then follows the rough country road to Nauru. It is a small farm village, which is close to the large settlement of Mure.
On arrival, transfer to a small, simple guesthouse. The lodge serves as a Home Stay run and managed by village communities.
Day5: Trek to Bagar 2,080 m/6,830 ft. -05 hours.
The first day of this adventure, the walk leads past farm villages and then on a pleasant trail. After a good walk, it reaches the remote and isolated Bagar Village. This will be the last permanent human settlement before reaching the other side of Dhaulagiri at Marpha and Jomsom. Ovenight in a simple lodge or tented camp, food served by our camping and kitchen cook and staff.
Day6: Trek to Dovan 2,520 m / 8,270 ft. -06 hours.
Moning walks head north on leaving the last of the farm village of Bagar, the trail follows through farm fields. Then a steep climb leads for an hour or more,nclose to the raging Myagdi River. From the high ridge, downhill within a dense forest of bamboo, oaks, and rhododendron trees. Slowly, the walk ends on reaching Dovan for an ovenight camp. Dovan is a small temporary settlement with a small teahouse and shops. It is located amidst a forest with a large grassy meadow.
Day7: Trek to Salla Ghari 2, 820 m/9,250 ft. -06 hrs.
From Dovan, the moning walk leads to an unstable wooden bridge over a stream at the confluence of the Myagdi River. Crossing over the wooden bridge above the fast-running stream, the trail follows through thick vegetation and tall trees.
After a few hours of steady walking, we reached our ovenight stop at Salla Ghari, also called Chartare or Bhaisi Kharka. A summer pasture of the villagers’ cattle grazing field with a few small huts. Ovenight in a tented camp amidst the dense forest surroundings.
Day8: Trek to Pakhaban (Japanese Camp) 3,750 m - 05 hrs
After an ovenight stay in the middle of a forested camp, today's walknleads to a complete mountain wildeness. Enjoy the good breakfast served by our camping cook and kitchen staff. From Salla Ghari, the walk leads towards the end of tall tree lines and thick vegetation. Reaching the Dhaulagiri Southen flank at a wide moraine and glacial field named the Italian Camp. From here, views of Putha Hiunchuli, Manapathi, with Dhaulagiri south ridge. Possible stops to enjoy the packed lunch, an aftenoon walk across a glaciated area close to the source of the Myagdi River.
Leaving the Italian Camp, the real adventure begins over the moraine of ice and glacier. Then climb to a grassy slope ridge for a short hour to Pakhaban, alsoncalled the Japanese Camp. The tents are set with close views of the South West Face of Dhaulagiri and Manapathi, Putha Hiunchuli. Includes grand views of the huge ice wall of Tsaurabong Peak across from the campsite.
Day9: Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp 4,748 m - 06 hrs.n
The moning walk leads over a moraine of rocks and icebergs in some sections of the trail. The climb requires good support and teamwork by following the guide's advice on safety measures. As well as take care of the porters and fellow members, against the sudden falls and accidents. It can happen as you walk across the glaciers of ice and icy ponds. Heeding slowly and with care, then reaching above the moraine. The walk gets better, reaching a rocky open area atnMt. Dhaulagiri base camp is right next to the towering Dhaulagiri-I Ice Fall and glaciers.
Ovenight camp at base camp is one of the highlights of the adventure, with a close look at Mt. Dhaulagiri Summit. After the camp is set, enjoy thenhot refreshment with super views of the tumbling icefall and Tukuche Peak.
As well as the adjacent Peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7,751 m.), Dhaulagiri III (7,715 m.), and Dhaulagiri IV (7,618 m.).
Day10: At Base Camp, rest day for acclimatization and exploration.
On this day, relax and enjoy the views, and explore this least trekked area around the base camp. Have time for your diary of the exceptional scenery that surrounds the Dhaulagiri base camp.
Day11: Trek to Hidden Valley 5,140 m/16,870 m via French Pass 5,360 m/17,590 ft. - 06 hrs.
From Dhaulagiri Base Camp, the moning climb takes you to the highest point of the adventure. Stand on a high ridge at the French Pass above 5,360 meters high, with spectacular views of the surrounding giant peaks.
Enjoying the super views, a short descent to a wide grassy meadow field, reaching Hidden Valley for an ovenight camp. From the camp views of Sita Chuchura,nMukut Himal, Tashi Kang 5,386 meters, with Tukuche Peak and Dhaulagiri I.
Day12: Trek to Alu Bhari/Yak Kharka 3,900 m/12,780 ft. crossing Dhampus Pass at 5,244 m/17,200 ft. - 06 hrs.
After a pleasant ovenight at Hidden Valley, the moning walk starts on a gentle path for a few hours. As the walk progresses, reaching the easten end of Hidden Valley, the path gets narrower. The route leads close beneath the Thapa or Dhampus Peak, which is also the name of the last pass. On reaching the bottom of the Dhampus Pass, a short climb with spectacular views of the Annapuna Himal ranges. Includes views of Nilgiri’s and Tukuche peaks, and then the trail follows a long descent. Slowly, the green vegetation appears as the walk reaches Alu Bhari or Yak Kharka for an ovenight camp. The last tented camp of the adventure with grand views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and the Annapuna Himalayan ranges. The
Day13: Trek to Marpha Village 2,667 m/8,750 ft. and drive to Jomsom Town 2,670 m/8,760 ft. -06 hrs.
Enjoy the last camping breakfast, along with the grand views of snow mountain ranges. The moning walk follows a long descent amidst tall trees of firs, pines, and rhododendron. The descent continues for another hour towards the most charming village of Marpha. Where all houses are painted white, a gem among the villages around Kali Gandaki Valley. Time permitting, visit an interesting monastery. Marpha is situated in the southen Mustang district on the Kali Gandaki River Valley. Marpha and the Kali Gandaki are famous for delicious apples and their products, like apple cider, brandy, local brew, and juice.
Possible lunch stops in a nice restaurant with good food to enjoy, and from here a short drive to Jomsom. The headquarters town of the Mustang district can be very windy during the aftenoon till early evening. At Jomsom, enjoy the comfort of a nice lodge and explore this beautiful village
Day14: Fly to Pokhara, 860 m, and connect to Kathmandu.
Moning after an early breakfast, as the flight operates in the moning from 6:30 am onwards, before noon. A short walk to Jomsom airport as per the flight time board in a small aircraft for a scenic flight. Takes less than 30 minutes, offersna grand panorama of the Dhaulagiri and Annapuna range. Then slowly the plane reaches the Pokhara Valley and into the city hub to land.
On arrival at Pokhara airport, transfer to another connecting flight to Kathmandu.
A scenic flight of half an hour to Kathmandu, on arrival at Kathmandu domestic airport, transfer back to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for individual activities with a grand memory of the Mount Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek.
Day15: Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities.
Enjoy the free leisure day for individual activities or with a shopping spree for souvenirs’ of Nepal. Interested people can request for another exciting tour of Patan and Bhaktapur cities, well worth a visit.
Day16: International departure for homeward bound.
Final day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as time for your intenational flight for homeward bound or next port of call. Transfer to Kathmandu, Nepal intenational airport bidding farewell to the guide and staff, after a marvelous and enjoyable adventure on Mount Dhaulagiri Circuit trek.
