Annapurna Himalayas. The Mardi Himal Scenic Ridge trek leads you to an amazing landscape beneath the staggering Machhapuchare Himal. The famous Fish-Tail and unclimbed Peak around the Himalayan range.
Mardi Himal Scenic Ridge Trek starts from the beautiful valley and city of Pokhara, blessed with natural beauty. The route leads from lower warm farm villages towards cooler green hills, enclosed by serene alpine forest.
The views of Annapurna Himalayan peaks remain constant throughout the trek from the start to the end. Includes grand vista of Manaslu, Lamjung and Dhaulagiri Himal also. As the walk progresses towards the high ridge of Mardi Himal stunning viewpoint. The highest spot of the adventure is encircled by dramatic landscapes and giant snow-capped peaks.
Mardi Himal is one of the south western flanks of the towering Machhapuchare Himal at 5,587 m/18,330 ft. One of Nepal’s trekking peaks, climbers seldom venture for the climb on this technical peak. The trek follows the high ridges reaching Mardi Viewpoint close en route to its base camp.
Mardi Himal is located above a high ridge and small scenic plateau.
The early pioneers and explorers named this area as ‘Other Sanctuary’.
Due to its proximity from the original Annapurna Sanctuary en route ABC, separated by the deep gorge of Modi River.
Enjoying the glorious Himalayan panorama on reaching the highest spot at Mardi Viewpoint, return journey a long descent. Reaching on the foothills of Mardi Himal high ridge at Siding for a short exciting drive to Pokhara.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal Intenational Airport, after visa formalities, and claiming the baggage. Outside the exit terminal our staff and guide receives you for a short transfer to the hotel. After getting refreshed at the hotel, then join with other members of Mardi Himal Scenic Ridge Trek for a briefing.
Briefing is done by our guide, group leader with full information of the treks, including hotels in Kathmandu. Local cultures with do’s and don’ts.
In the evening a lovely dinner and introduction to Nepali foods and culture.
Day 2: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.
Moning after breakfast, our city guide takes you on a tour around thenworld heritage sites within Kathmandu city. After an exciting and interesting tour back to the hotel, preparation and packing for trekking.
Non-essential clothing and items not required for treks, can be stored in the Hotel or with Kirat Society Adventure.
Day 3: Fly to Pokhara 860 m, drive to Kande, trek to Deurali 2,050m-04 hrs.
Day 4: Trek to Forest Camp 2,520 m - 05 hrs.
From Deurali enjoying the moning glorious views and scenery of beautifulnof rolling green hills. Includes giant snow-capped peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapuna Himalayas. From here, leaving the main trail from Deuralintowards sheer mountain wildeness.
The trail follows through dense vegetation and tall tree lines of oaks, pines, fir and rhododendrons. Finally, the ending day walks reaching an open area amidst a forest surrounding at Forest Camp for ovenight. In the comfort of a nice, simple mountain lodge with a large cozy dining room.
Day 5: Trek to Low Camp 2,970m - 05 hrs.
Today’s walk covers moderate distance to Low Camp for ovenight halt, leaving
Forest Camp with steep climb. The uphill path follows through lovely woodsnnwith views of beautiful landscape terrains. The air gets cooler as altitude gainsnnslowly, every hour and then. After few hours of good walk, then reaching a smallnnsettlement at Low Camp for ovenight halt.
Day 6: Trek to High Camp 3,700m -05 hrs.
Moning walks a fair distance, but takes longer due to slow rise in altitude.
Taking time, walk follows towards a high ridge, leaving the dense forest behindnnfor short alpine bush and shrubs. The trail climbs for few hours then reaching
High Camp. Enjoy lunch and ovenight stop on the highest spot for ovenight halt.
Day 7: A day hike to Mardi View Point 4,500 m and to Badal Danda 3,210 m- 06 hours hikes both ways.
Rising early before break of dawn, having breakfast, starting the moning walk following the high scenic ridge to Mardi Himal Viewpoint.
After few hours of good climb reaching the highest point of the adventures,nMardi Viewpoint located right in front of towering Mt. Machhapuchare the famous Fish-Tail Peak. Mardi Himal stands beneath the south-west flanks from Fish-Tail Peak. Enjoy the mesmerizing panoramic views of the Annapuna Himalayan range with jagged snow-capped peaks.
After a wonderful time at Mardi Viewpoint retun jouney downhill to High Camp, and then continue further down to Badal Danda Camp for last ovenights around Mardi Himal. Badal means clouds, as this area is covered in fogs and mist of the seasons during aftenoon, hence the name Badal. Transfer into a nice simple lodge for aftenoon tea, and dinner in a large cozy dining room.
Day 8: From Badal Danda trek to Siding village 1,700 m - 06 hrs.
Another long day walks, and the last day of trekking, the trail follows downhill and back into tree lines. Reaching near Low Camp, having a short refreshing break. Continue to descend on an altenative route to end the walk at Siding farm village. Ovenight in the comfort of a nice and simple lodge, after a long walk downhill to reach Siding Village.
Day 9: Drive back to Pokhara and transfer to hotel-03 hrs
After a great tough walk the previous day, moning after breakfast enjoy an exciting short drive to Pokhara. On reaching Pokhara, transfer to the hotel, located by the serene lovely Phewa Lake side. Enjoy the lovely rooms, arriving at the hotel in time for lunch and ovenight stop. Take a nice walk around the interesting lake side.
As time for a short scenic flight to Kathmandu, transfer to Pokhara Airport for a sweeping smooth air jouney. After a grand short adventure around the high hills of Annapuna Himalayas. On reaching Kathmandu airport a short drive back to your hotels, rest of the day at leisure for personal activities.
Day 10: Transfer to Pokhara airport for a scenic flight to Kathmandu.
As time for a short scenic flight to Kathmandu, transfer to Pokhara Airport for a sweeping smooth air jouney. After a grand short adventure around the high hills of Annapuna Himalayas. On reaching Kathmandu airport a short drive back to your hotels, rest of the day at leisure for personal activities.
Day 11: International departure for homeward bound.
Final day in Kathmandu and Nepal, as time for your intenational flight for homeward bound or next port of call. Transfer to Kathmandu, Nepal intenational airport bidding farewell to your guide and staff. After a marvelous adventure and experience on Mardi Himal Scenic Ridge trek.
Essential Information
One can enjoy Mardi Himal Trek nearly all seasons, except for the wet monsoon season from mid-June to August.
The best favored seasons are spring and autumn/fall. The spring begins from March to May, most days are longer with sunlight hours.
Normally the morning till mid-afternoon days are clear for views and scenic walks can get overcast late afternoon sometime.
Expect snowfalls, cold mornings and in the nighttime, the mid-hills are covered with tall rhododendron, pine and juniper trees. A lively time with wildflowers are in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendrons of various colors.
The next high season is autumn/fall, starts from September and ends in November. Most days are fine with crystal clear blue sky, a pleasant time for scenic walks. Days are shorter due to limited sunlight hours, cold afternoons, and nights till morning time. Expect snowfall sometimes, but with a bright starry night sky. Trekkers can also enjoy Mardi Himal Trek in the winter times of December to February. Most days are clear and sunny, but shorter days due to limited sunlight hours.
